Article Parketplein: 'We have a wealth of expertise'
Jos Krijnen from Parketplein.nl wrote a great article about Overmat Industries and our expertise in the industry. In this article, Jeroen van Oversteeg talks about Overmat’s developments, our presence at trade fairs, and the return of the Floorservice Academy.

We have a wealth of expertise
It has already been fifteen years since Jeroen van Oversteeg took over Overmat Industries in Waspik from his father, Ad. Much has remained the same in that time. Overmat Industries is still a friendly and flexible family business where customers and employees are the key pillars. “Many of our employees have been with us for a long time, which I consider a great compliment. For our customers, this also provides a sense of security and reliability. They see familiar faces and know what to expect, which builds trust,” says Jeroen van Oversteeg.
However, a lot has also changed. In recent years, Overmat has significantly expanded its product range, particularly in the parquet and wooden flooring segment, including hardwax oil. Additionally, Overmat introduced a new label, which received very positive feedback. “Recently, we have overhauled our communication strategy and significantly increased our presence on social media, including LinkedIn, Facebook, and Instagram. This has been a success, as we have received a lot of feedback. We combine our social media efforts with our monthly newsletter, strengthening both.”
Jeroen van Oversteeg: “In addition to our finishing products and sanding machines, we have a wealth of expertise in-house.”
Overmat Industries participates in various national and international trade fairs. This year, we will again take part in Matexpo, the biennial trade fair for construction equipment, which will be held for the 41st time in mid-September at Kortrijk Xpo. Just a week later, Overmat Industries will also be present at the Interieur Collectie Dagen (InCoDa).
Van Oversteeg: “To be honest, last year’s edition of InCoDa was a bit disappointing for us. That may have been due to the cautious market. However, demand will return, and when the industry needs it, you must be able to deliver. In 2023, we had a great trade fair. InCoDa is always an excellent opportunity to catch up with industry peers, strengthen connections, and establish new relationships. Naturally, we will showcase our new products there.”
In early November, Overmat will participate in HoutPro+ for the first time, presenting its wide range of oils, lacquers, and maintenance products for wooden floors, interior construction, and furniture makers. “I’m curious to see what this trade fair will bring us. We also support the Parket Ambacht Plein, which will also be present there.”
Perhaps Overmat will participate in Domotex 2026, but no final decision has been made yet. “I’ve always found Domotex to be a great trade fair with a good atmosphere. We’ve made valuable contacts there in the past. Last time, our booth was slightly smaller than usual, but we still had a very successful event.”
Practical training at the last edition of the Floorservice Academy.
In the fall, Overmat will host a Floorservice Academy. “The last Academy was held a few years ago, so it's time to inform industry professionals again about the latest product developments and new machines we’ve introduced to the market.”
As always, the Floorservice Academy will focus on treating, finishing, and maintaining wooden floors using the latest Floorservice products. Alongside theoretical knowledge, there will also be hands-on practical training.
“I see the Academy as a real added value and service for our customers,” says Jeroen van Oversteeg. “And we have a lot to showcase here in Waspik. In addition to our finishing products and sanding machines, we have a great deal of expertise in-house. Our specialists can guide industry professionals through all aspects of floor finishing. The professionals who attend the Academy are serious customers who want to stay up to date with the latest developments and apply this knowledge in their work. It’s up to us to do our best to meet their expectations.”
